On Friday 31st January, Mitre 10 MEGA Botany kindly donated boxes of Begonias and Marigolds to Sancta Maria College to help with the re-establishment of the Butterfly Garden which was originally built in 2019. The Butterfly Garden is one of the many sacred spaces at the College available to students to enjoy as part of their daily school life. Butterflies are a symbol of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ.
With Easter on its way, the Sancta Maria College’s Enviro team is busy making sure that the garden will bloom for this sacred time. Today, students and teachers planted the donated flowers.
If any students wish to be part of this initiative, please approach anyone from the Enviro team or Eden and Karl, our very enthusiastic Kaitiakitanga prefects.
