On the 12 February 2025, we had our first whole school Mass for the year. The core value that we are focusing on this year is hope. We thank Father Kevin for guiding us in this Mass, blessing us wonderfully and spreading his wisdom.
Father Kevin left us with a powerful message in his homily; “We are beautifully and wonderfully made.” We all need reminding that we don’t need to change ourselves just for validation from others, or to fit in because “everyone else is doing it.” Every individual has been uniquely made and created in the image of God himself.
Special thanks to Mrs. Oliver and Mr. Tamayo for preparing the Mass, thanks to Mr. Gibbs and Mr. Humphries who prepared our hymns so we could all join in unison and sing together. But also, to the AV team and the worship band for helping Mass move along smoothly and finally thank you to everyone who sung the songs with strength and pride, as singing is “praying twice.”
As Mass ended, we all joined in blessing our new Head Prefects, wishing them hope and wisdom, as they proceed to lead our school throughout this year.
It was a wonderfully uplifting way to begin our year of Hope.
