American photographer, Ansel Adams said, “You don’t take a photograph, you make it.” This quote plays as a reminder to the Year 12 & 13 Photography students, that taking photos is an art and that the beauty of it all is truly in the eye of the beholder and how people see it.
This message only became more visible once the Photography students took a trip to Downtown Auckland this week, where they got to experience the diverse pieces of artwork and images at the Silo Park and Auckland Art Galleries.
Images that were enthralling, inspiring and unique captured the attention of the students who are currently working on their own Boards which represent themes and ideas of interest or that are important to them. This includes themes such as nature, city life, shadows, childhood and culture.
The trip was not only an enjoyable day out, but it got the students thinking about different ways that they can showcase their own creativity.
