On the 25th of April, Mr Green along with 17 Prefects represented Sancta Maria College at Stockade Hill to commemorate those who served in the First World War, and those who passed.
The Chairman of the Howick Local Board, Adele White, presented a welcoming speech to those gathered here and reminded us of our history. Followed by scripture read by Pastor Philip Sproul.
During the ceremony we were very lucky to have seen the Royal New Zealand Air Force fly over in formation, right before we were graced by some lovely down pour.
To conclude this ceremony, our Head Prefects, Gemma Holt and Felix Cheng, laid down a wreath by the cenotaph on behalf of our school to remember the New Zealand and Australian troops who sacrificed their lives for our country.
Other schools involved in this ceremony were Macleans College, Pakuranga College, Botany Downs Secondary College, Elim Christian College, St Kentigern College, Ormiston Senior College, Edgewater College, Mission Heights Junior College and Howick Intermediate.
Thank you to the RSA for the lovely ceremony.
Lest we forget.
