We celebrated our annual Feast Day Mass, The Visitation on Wednesday 26th May. The Mass was presided by Aux. Bishop Michael, Fr. Kevin and Fr. Terry. Fr Kevin brought the Gospel alive and made it visual and meaningful by asking Sydney Causer and Minju Kim to act out the roles of Elizabeth and Mary. This was a very special event as five students got confirmed and 20 students were commissioned as Eucharistic Ministers.
The worship band and the Kapa Haka group added to the essence of spirituality with their hymns. The prayer of the faithful had a multi-cultural touch with each student saying a prayer in their native language.
The altar was beautifully decorated with flowers and the statue of Mary in the centre surrounded by 5 boats at her feet. The boats signify the schooner, called Sancta Maria, in which Bishop Pompallier travelled to NZ.
The offertory procession included traditional leis which were given to the Bishop, the Priests, special guests and senior leadership.
The efforts of many hands working behind the scenes, especially our Special Character Prefects Sydney and Nathan and Mr Piggin, made this day very special.
