Three Year 13 business students, Sharliz Ang, Mikaela Lai, and Raine Montecillo have started 2022 with a great business group called ‘Tote-ally’.
One of the course requirements is to have a sustainable aspect in what they bring to the market, so they put their thinking caps on and have opted to sell hand-made tote bags made from recycled plastic shipping bags. These amazing girls aim to become ‘an ally of the environment through creativity and sustainability’ with their unique tote bags!
The potential success of their business creation is evidently seen in their success they have gained in the Young Enterprise Scheme.
This nationwide scheme calls student-run businesses to compete against each other in challenges to win prizes. For the first challenge, they asked the groups to survey people from their target audience and write a report of their findings. Unsurprisingly, they came first in the East Auckland region out of hundreds of entries. Well done girls!
The team will be recognized officially at the Regional Awards night in October, and they are in the running to be the overall National winners for Challenge 1.
