The University of Otago Junior Maths Competition for Year 9-11 students has been running for the last 38 years. This year there were 4,800 participants across 117 schools around New Zealand.
Remarkably, Aaron Santoso achieved the rare feat of an Outstanding award by finishing in the Top 30 students in Year 10 in New Zealand.
Maia Tay-Morrison and Ean Siao also achieved a Distinction award by finishing in the top 15% of the country. Congratulations to all three students, it truly is a remarkable achievement.
A number of other students achieved a Merit award for finishing in the top 50% as well. Well done to all the students involved.
