Wellington reveals its history to Year 13 students

Through the blustery, breezy weather, the Year 13 History students took a trip down to windy Wellington which lived up to its name.

While visiting various sites such as the Petone Settlers Museum, the National Library of New Zealand, the National Archives, Te Rua Kua, Te Papa, the Wellington Museum and more, the Year 13 History students were able to explore and discover the history of Wellington and its early settlement.

Whilst being able to see primary evidence and firsthand experience of early immigrants, the students were able to enhance their knowledge of the Wakefield settlement, how it affected the Maori at the time and how New Zealand has developed over time.

Overall, the time in Wellington gave students an engaging learning experience while enhancing their knowledge about New Zealand history.
