This is New Zealand’s largest photographic event, encouraging more people to celebrate the art of photography, through free public access alongside professionally curated exhibitions.
Students visited three venues, Silo Park, Two Rooms and The Auckland City Art Gallery. They absorbed and perused the diverse range of work that was on view. Students loved the Silo Park venue, rushing around taking photographs of its unique interior space. The quality of the work and conceptual thinking involved in the Photography Festival is outstanding. Critical research in the established practices of contemporary artists is an essential component in the Visual Arts Curriculum. The Art Department prides itself on providing living opportunities for students to experience original art work.
