On 20 June 2024, a group of nine students from the Sancta Maria College Young Vinnies Hospice attended the annual Volunteer long service recognition lunch at Tōtara Hospice in Manurewa. The students acompanied by Dr Laux performed two songs as part of the ceremony. They proudly represented and introduced the school by singing Tenei te whānau. A few tears were seen in the crowd when they continued with ‘Found-Tonight’ as they shared messages of Hope. In appreciation for their long service, 30 volunteers received a certificate and a crocheted heart brooch made with love by our own Kristen Calantog.
A huge thank you to Kristen for making each of the crocheted brooch’s, Mr Piggin for kindly driving us there and to Tōtara Hospice for their hospitality and providing the students with an amazing opportunity to learn a bit more about the Hospice’s services and to be able to share the Sancta Maria College aroha.
